my logo

When I started to design this logo I was trying to figure out what would appeal to a person buying the beer and uniquely represent the brand. I wanted something that would represent the Atlantic Ocean, but not take away from the brand name. I chose to use colors that did not overpower the other, but instead compliment and blend with each other. A text displaying the company name was not enough so I used a vintage font with a darker stroke to make. This technique was used to show that the product is aged to perfectness and can be trusted for purchase. I surveyed a few of my friends and they said they would be intrigued and would buy a beer with this label. When I decreased the size of the logo it remained intact and despite the blackening of the upper waves, the company name and the label is still recognizable. I decided to not type on a path with the company name because it would be too cluttered. The separation of the two also implies that the name is the land/coast and the waves are the water.

The smoothness of the waves compliments the font because all the letters within each word are connected. The spacing between each word is minimal to continue with the flow motif which identifies with the experience of drinking a smooth beer after a long day at work. The logo has the intrigue factor to get consumers to notice it and the professional look to appear on a letterhead or a company pen.
