front and back of the menu

On the front page of the menu I decided to utilize part of the designs we discussed in class, but instead of circles I decided to use stars. The stars symbolize “movie stars” and I decided to put each available type of food that would be served in each star. I started with sandwiches and then made stars slightly smaller in size and put the other food types in them. The placement of the pictures corresponds to the order they are displayed on the menu. I would have liked to use the logo of the restaurant, but the free trial expired and all I could do was work on the current file and not open a new one. I also tried to make it easy for the restaurant to print it in black and white just in case they needed to; people would see the stars and then know what was in them even if the image was blurred.

I made each heading the same as the colors on the front page to preserve continuity. Then I used a font that made each celebrity’s name look like it was on an old marquee at a movie theater. The descriptions are smaller to save space, but they are still readable. I only used two font types in the inner and last pages. It may seem like more, but I just utilized the bold and italic functions to make certain sections uniform. I did not want to use too many pictures in the menu because I feel the customers can look up pictures on their phone if they want to put a name with a face. The customer is there to see what they want to eat and I felt that should be the most important part of the menu.
